Wine Spectator awards 90/100 to Pinot Nero

Very dark for a Pinot Nero. Intense aromas of crushed blackberry, with coffee and chocolate. Full-bodied, soft and velvety, with a long, long finish. Fun and serious stuff. Like a Merry Edwards Pinot from California. This is a debut wine from Alessandro Cellai, winemaker of Castellare di Castellina. Available spring 2008. Best after 2008. 210 cases made.

James Suckling
